Textured Hair Education Intensive

A 2-Day Hands-On Training for Stylists & Salon Teams

Investment

$4,500

Designed for salon owners, managers, and teams ready to build or strengthen their textured-hair services.

Travel and accommodations billed separately.

Textured hair represents one of the most underserved—and misunderstood—opportunities in the professional beauty industry.

This two-day intensive was created for salons and stylists who want to confidently expand their ability to work with textured and coily hair while delivering healthier, more efficient, and more profitable services.

With over a decade of experience working across luxury retail, editorial, advertising, education, and behind-the-chair services, I bring a perspective that goes beyond technique. This training is rooted in understanding the client, assessing the hair, choosing the appropriate products and techniques, and creating an experience that makes clients want to return.

Day One

Understanding Textured Hair & The Silk Press

We begin with the fundamentals that determine the success of every service.

  • — Understanding textured and coily hair
  • — Hydration and moisture balance
  • — Porosity and hair assessment
  • — Proper cleansing and buildup removal
  • — Clarifying vs. hydrating shampoos
  • — Conditioning and treatment techniques
  • — Efficient sectioning and detangling
  • — Product selection and product overload
  • — Blow-drying technique
  • — Heat management
  • — Heat training vs. temporary straightening
  • — Blow-dryer heat vs. iron heat
  • — Strand thickness vs. texture when determining heat
  • — Preventing unnecessary heat damage
  • — Humidity and reversion
  • — Silk press preparation and finishing techniques

Hands-On Silk Press Workshop

Attendees complete a full silk press on a mannequin—from cleansing and conditioning through blow-drying and final pressing—followed by an open Q&A and group evaluation.

Day Two

The Business of Textured Hair

Technical skill is only part of the opportunity. We explore how textured-hair education can help salons:

  • — Attract new clientele
  • — Increase client retention
  • — Build referrals
  • — Expand service offerings
  • — Increase revenue opportunities
  • — Build confidence among salon teams
  • — Better serve an underserved client base

Braiding & Twisting Foundations

  • — Sectioning and parting
  • — Tension control
  • — Client comfort
  • — Product selection
  • — Two-strand twisting
  • — Flat twists
  • — Cornrow foundations

Who this training is for

  • Salon owners and managers
  • Hairstylists and beauty educators
  • Salon teams
  • Stylists adding textured-hair services

What makes it different

This isn’t about memorizing a formula. Textured hair is not one-size-fits-all. You’ll learn how to assess the hair, listen to the client, and understand the why behind the technique—not simply the steps.

Travel & customization

For on-location training, the hosting salon is responsible for round-trip airfare, hotel accommodations, and ground transportation. Extended training, brand education, and salon business consulting may be quoted separately.

Training dates are confirmed upon receipt of the program deposit.

Let’s close the knowledge gap—and turn an underserved market into an opportunity.
